LAS VEGAS, NV., Mar 7, 2013 – Vegas Roots Community Garden (VegasRoots.org), the oldest community garden in Las Vegas, is hosting the next in a series of events entitled Marketplace at The Roots, on Saturday, Mar 9th, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Garden’s property at 715 N. Tonopah Drive.
Organized by Xena Foreman, Marketplace at The Roots offers the Las Vegas community an opportunity to visit and tour the garden, shop with a collective of 20 or more local vendors and enjoy a lively, and often live, musical background.
According to Foreman, each Marketplace offers unique, one-of-a-kind and handmade gifts, artwork, crafts, soaps and body products, artisan jewelry, delicious food, the opportunity to pick organic produce right from the garden, and more.
Vegas Roots Community Garden, a non-profit organization, is an ideal place for an open-air market, offering an enclosed 4 ½ acres very near to downtown Las Vegas.
“ I enjoy seeing people come together and having a great time. Vegas Roots Community Garden provides us the space to encourage people to learn about healthy food choices, and what can be grown organically in Las Vegas. Because the garden grounds are so spacious, it is a great place for me to organize events that celebrate community, art, music and food.”, says Ms. Foreman.
Parking is plentiful and secure. And both parking and admission to the Marketplace is free.
The Garden has a nice playground and parents are invited to bring their children to the Marketplace to enjoy it and to learn how food grows.
This month through May, the Marketplace will take place on the second and third Saturdays of each month.
These events are open to the public and all are welcome.
