11th Annual DJs for PJs Event Aims to Raise 8,000 Pairs of New Pajamas
Published on Fri, Mar 29, 2013 (5:01 p.m.)LAS VEGAS — The eleventh annual DJS for PJS event is scheduled for Friday, April 26, 2013, from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. The daylong event is designed to collect new pajamas for children in crisis and benefits charities throughout the Las Vegas Valley. Local disk jockeys will encourage corporate and individual donations by broadcasting from four on-site locations, located in Summerlin – Kohl’s (8671 W. Charleston Blvd.), Centennial – Kohl’s (6700 N. Durango Dr.), South Las Vegas – Kohl’s (4250 Blue Diamond Rd.), and Henderson – Kohl’s (I-215 & 30 N. Valle Verde Dr.). Local celebrities and elected officials are also involved in the effort to collect pajamas, raise public awareness, and encourage others to donate new PJs to deserving children living in distressed situations.
The non-profit event is a cooperative effort between CIM Marketing Partners and the Leadership Las Vegas Class of 2003. The title sponsor is Cash America Super Pawn. With the invaluable support of our corporate sponsors, individuals and volunteers, they aim to raise 8,000 pairs of PJs this year. Last year, they were able to donate new PJs to a number of local charities, including: A Brighter Day Family Services, Baby Bounty, Boy’s Town Nevada, Casa de Luz, Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada, Child Haven, Neighborhood Family Services, Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation, Nevada Children’s Center, Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, Ronald McDonald House, S.A.F.E. House, Safe Nest, St. Jude’s Ranch, Southern Nevada Children First, The Shade Tree, Variety Early Learning Center and Women’s Development Center.
