A 69 year-old man was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries early today after being struck by a motorcycle.
At about 1:45 a.m., the man was in a crosswalk in the 2000 block of West Lake Mead Boulevard, near North Martin Luther King Boulevard, when he was hit by a 22-year-old man on a motorcycle, North Las Vegas Police Officer Chrissie Coon said.
The pedestrian was transported to University Medical Center.
The motorcyclist was cited for not having a registration or insurance and for failure to yield to a pedestrian, Coon said.
“Speed appeared to be a factor,” Coon said. “But drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor.”

This ain't over.
When a motorcyclist gets hit -- people rant and rave about car/truck drivers not paying attention assuming the motorcyclist was not at fault. When a pedestrian gets hit -- people rant and rave about car/truck drivers not paying attention assuming the pedestrian was not at fault. So what is it then when a motorcyclist hits a pedestrian? Or did the pedestrian hit the motorcyclist?
Drivers here are just RUDE and IGNORANT,my wife and I go for walks every night, and cross at the light "IN" the CROSS WALKS, cant tell you how many times people making right turns look ONLY left for on coming traffic and DONT EVEN SEE US,we are very aware of what IDIOTS drive here and pay extra close attetion that the DRIVER SHOULD BE DOING. The other day a guy on a crotch rocket on 95 were its 2 lands was tring to get between my car and a semi,I could only think boy would it serve him right if he fell off that dam thing and killed himself, well deserved.PEOPLE WALKING HAVE RIGHTS TOO. Whats the big ass hurry people are in, in Las Vegas. Slow down, pay attention, look to the right look to the right.
