A new ad campaign is asking people to air their dirty laundry on billboards across the Strip.
Clorox, the bleach company, recently debuted a campaign in Las Vegas that asks customers to fill in the blanks in several sentences, such as "I ____ed my ____ in Vegas" or "I just got ____ by a ____." The company posts people's answers on digital billboards at the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood and Fashion Show Mall and on ads affixed to the tops of taxis.
The campaign is exclusive to Las Vegas.
"We felt like Las Vegas was the perfect messy moment mecca to bring it to life," Clorox spokeswoman Rita Gorenberg said.
Using electronic billboards to interact with customers is a growing trend. For Clorox, the aim is to connect a new generation of consumers to the 100-year-old brand.
People who post also are entered into a drawing for a $15,000 prize.
Clorox also did video interviews with people on the Strip. Compilations of those will begin appearing on the big screens next week.
Among the messages Clorox is featuring:
• "I crank-called my boss in Vegas" - John P.
• "I nuzzled my toilet in Vegas" - Chloe C.
• "I might have created a monster last night" - Shaun B.
• "I might have married a horse last night" - Julius A.
• "I might have laughed a ton last night" - Angela P.
• "I salsaed my shirt in Vegas" - Brian T.
• "I upgraded my life in Vegas" - Mark H.
