Metro Police are searching for at least two men in connection with a fatal shooting that happened shortly before noon, just east of the UNLV campus.
Metro Police received reports about 11:40 a.m. of a shooting at East Harmon Avenue and Spencer Street.
A man was shot in the head, Metro Police reported. He was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Police are searching for two adult black males in a white Dodge Durango last seen heading north on Escondido Street, officials said.
Metro Officer Marcus Martin said it is possible there were more than two people in the vehicle at the time of the shooting. One of the suspects reportedly was wearing a dark shirt and had braided hair, and the other was wearing a white hoodie, police said.

Another day, another person dead, lets see what tomorrow brings.
Yep the strip is real safe LOL
"Yep the strip is real safe LOL"
jauns -- the out-loud laugh is on you. Harmon & Spencer is at least a mile east of The Strip.
"I'm never too busy that I can't stop to enjoy someone else's suffering." -- the late, great George Carlin in "White Guys Who Shave Their Heads"
"People" (and I use that term loosely) pulling out guns on a whim and blasting away. I'll never understand the mindset of being able to take anothers life so easily and with little regard. Worse than an animal.
It's not getting better. That whole area east of the strip is a gutter. You couldn't give me a home in Las Vegas country club or Paradise Palms. You might be safe in the confines but sooner or later you need to stop and get gas, stop at a convenience store or shop in that area. Pass.
Mandatory 20 year sentence if you are in possession of an illegal firearm. Life if you use that firearm in the process of a crime. I don't care how many prisons we need to build. You simply can't have these animals on the streets.
UNLV is in a very blighted and impoverished area. The school should be fenced with gates so that their is some control, who enters and exits. At night the place is deserted and can be a spooky, especially if you are walking from the flashlight to the dorms. I 'am glad the UNLV PD patrols the campus at all hours.
This is the reason I will never go to college. It is to danjerous.
John Dough, How dangerous, according to Metro Stats, is your current neighborhood compared to any college campus?
How is it that the area around the UNLV campus has become so dangerous? It's filled with homeless people and drug dealers and prostitutes (much like the rest of the city). The university officials must be furious over the area's neglect. Shouldn't the university and the surrounding area be an example of the city and state's progress and efficiency? Maybe it already is.
You think all UNLV students are young Mormons? Look around and see the hooker attire in the class rooms.
USC is surrounded by slums....the neighborhood around a University doesn't have anything to do with it's education.
Just another day in the DRC!

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ $200-400 hr. and you too can help one of these young girls with her colledge education
I can tell you this was at all to do with the college unlv. It started at 1555 e rochelle ave as the victum was at this address vandalizing and causing problems. I know I seen it first hand as the group broke the glass and then threw the emergency fire extinguisher and hit my car. then started trying to get me to fight him. The pack he was in was a group of 5 black males and one black female. The group was totaly waisted and looking for trouble and not just 7 min after they found it and now he is dead. That man is a dumb waisted black man that don't care about anything. He also was no unlv student in anyway. He was strait hood and did not care what he was doing. when i heard the shots i knew it was them and well it was.
This is why we need guns on campus.
Actually the reason for the incident was due to a robbery and approx 10 days prior the same vehicle ( most likely suspects) shot three cars in the same parking lot trying to retaliate then. I live in the complex where it happened and if people would have told what they saw the first time the incident yesterday wouldnt of happened. I know i would speak up to avoid another probable chance of someone being hurt. So it not due to being drunk write what ur sure of notbwhat u think!!!!! Rip q
