A child in a baby stroller was struck by a car Thursday after the vehicle lost control while making a right turn and drifted onto the sidewalk, Metro Police officials said.
The car was turning onto Decatur Boulevard from Spring Mountain Road about 9:20 a.m. when the driver appeared to lose control on the rain-slicked road, police said.
The car slid onto the sidewalk, hitting the child in the stroller, police said. The child did not appear to have any visible injuries but was transported to University Medical Center, police said.
The investigation is ongoing, but the accident appears to be the result of the slippery road, police said.

sounds like the driver lost control of his/her drinking problems
That's right in the middle of China Town, not surprising and why is the stroller that close to the roadway?
@thekube:
I see parents a lot more than is necessary with their strollers sitting right at the curb. Mom or Dad are a safe distance away but their baby sitting in the stroller is right at the curb, inhaling all the car exhaust and in danger of getting hit by someone cutting the turn too close. Heck, no one should be that close to the curb while waiting to cross the street, let alone a baby in a stroller!
