For a building that will be near the center of a 15-block festival of life’s beauty, the Western Hotel, something of an eyesore even when it was operational, seems somewhat out of place.

Daytime’s leading lady, soap opera actress Susan Lucci, was at the Donny & Marie show at the Flamingo this weekend, where the singers told the audience that Donny had guest-starred with her on "All My Children" in 2006. Susan went backstage afterward for a souvenir photo with the duo.
