2012 ‘Nowhere’ photos
Fri, Dec 28, 2012 (9:55 a.m.)
With camera in tow, little can be done to stop photojournalists from capturing everything in their line of sight. But not every picture fits a story. About 80 percent of photos are born only to rest in peace in a hard-drive mausoleum. Those that are saved are usually paired with stories and published online or in print, or both. Some are grouped together to tell stories visually without the need for words. And then there are those that don’t belong anywhere but are too special to end up in that mausoleum. Sun photojournalists chose these images as among their favorite “nowhere” photographs from 2012.
